Manufacturing ⌀3.34m TBM for Sumiyoshi Drain Tunnel No. 1 is completed
We completed ⌀3.34m Earth Pressure Balance TBM for Ishinomaki city at Hitachi Zosen Corporation Sakai works.
The earthquake in 2011 has caused ground subsidence and flood in Ishinomaki city. After that, Ishinomaki city has been improving drainage facilities and Sumiyoshi Drain Tunnel No.1 is one of main drains to a Pump facility.
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Hitachi Zosen Corporation’s TBM business were integrated into joint venture company on October 1, 2021 and launched as” Underground Infrastructure Technologies Corporation”(abbreviation: UGITEC). This is our first TBM after the integration. We will take on the challenge of becoming an industry-leading solution provider for “underground space development” and contribute to the development of underground infrastructure and a sustainable society.
