H&V means Horizontal variation & Vertical variation. The feature of H&V TBM are; ①independently controlled circular TBMs that are connected each other with flexible joint. ②Each TBM can be disconnected in the ground as needed. ③Cross articulation system allows spiral advancing movement and as a result, the position of each TBM can change from a top and bottom line to right and left line.
T-BOSS method (T-type basement Branch Off Shield System)
It is one of the methods to connect the excavating tunnel to an existing tunnel. It has a built-in steel cylinder driven by cutter head driving power. The steel cylinder has special cutter bits and bore through the existing tunnel wall, either steel segments or reinforced concrete segments. While advancing forward, the tunnel wall of TBM stays close to the exisiting tunnel. The steel cylinder can resist ground pressure and water pressure, so that ground improvement work can be reduced and tunnel connection work can be done more safely and effectively.

Features
It makes unnecessary for site workers to work on the cutting face and thus improves safety and construction efficiency.
Inner Shell DSR TBM (Draw a Shield for Recycle system)
The TBM’s external casing and internal unit are constructed as independent units, and the internal (drive) unit is removed following completion of tunneling of the first section. It is taken to the departure shaft, where a new external casing is fitted, and excavation is then begun on the next construction section. Because the TBM’s internal unit is resued, there is no need to construct an arrival shaft. The drive shaft can also be set up anywhere along the construction route.

Mother and Child TBM
It has a built-in Child unit TBM that can be separated in the underground. As a result, the Mother unit TBM and Child unit TBM can excavate tunnels of different size. Various methods can be applied to the cutter head separation technology, depending on the conditions such as the type, size, and diameter difference of cutter head between the Mother unit and Child unit.

Eccentric multi-axis TBM (DPLEX TBM)
It is a method of excavation by driving multiple parallel links that support the cutter head. By changing the cutter head to a shape other than a circle, various cross-section excavations are possible.

MSD TBM (Mechanical Shield Docking TBM)
Two TBMs coming from opposite directions meet each other under the ground. One TBM has a steel cylinder pushing forward to the other machine. Another TBM has rubber ring jointing with the cylinder. The steel cylinder and rubber ring can shut off soil and ground water completely. After docking, the equipment and structure inside the two machines are removed, then tunnels are jointed.

TBM for steep inclines
It is a TBM dedicated to steep slopes that excavates tunnels with a slope of more than 30% diagonally upward. In order to excavate steep slopes, a large gripper and anti-slip steel or invert block are supported by shield jacks to prevent the machine from slipping. 3 of 4 past constructions in Japan are manufactured by us.
